Fitness has always been an important part of Amanda’s life. As a young girl, she took up gymnastics and cheerleading, which continued through high school. During her college years, Amanda’s active lifestyle took a back seat to the parties and she graduated college with 30 extra pounds on her athletic frame. Something had to change. She joined a local gym in 1996 and that’s where she was first introduced to (and fell in love with) yoga. Fast forward to 2011, Amanda finally faced her fears and went to a hot yoga/power flow class. The combination of a heated environment and vinyasa flow was pure bliss, especially for someone with knee injuries and arthritis! That love and passion for yoga is why she decided to become an instructor, completing her 200-hour teacher training in Spring 2013. Amanda enjoys teaching challenging but fun power flow classes, as well as restorative classes for athletes (including the Tennessee Titans), runners and active Nashvillians.
Amanda was born in a small town outside of Boston, but has always had Tennessee in her blood. With Tennessee-native parents, she settled in Nashville after graduating from University of Georgia in 1995. Amanda also is a deliriously happy newlywed: she and her husband hosted a surprise wedding in their backyard on October 1, 2016, before running off to Aruba for their beach ceremony and honeymoon.

What did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a doctor but passing out at the sight of blood put a dent in that dream!
Secret Talent? I have a black belt in Karate (if self-defense qualifies as a talent?!?!)
