Maddie grew up in Dallas, Texas. A teenage musician with angst to spare, she discovered yoga in 2010 and learned the first of many important yoga lessons. How to CALM DOWN and BREATHE. As she grew up and moved to Nashville to pursue a degree in songwriting, yoga class provided a safe space to work through the pressures of exams and classes.
In the summer of 2016, after a particularly difficult semester and unprecedented levels of stress and anxiety, Maddie knew that something had to give. She signed up for her 200hr RYT training, a decision would change her life forever. Diving beneath the surface of her practice she learned her second life lesson from yoga. “YOU are in control.” Through the guidance of some very wise women she discovered the power of thought and the importance of awareness. Suddenly everything was so clear, the answer to all of life’s challenges and questions were inside all along! Yoga set her on the right path and provided all of the tools she needed not only to survive but THRIVE in the chaos that is life.
Forever a dedicated student, Maddie has attended trainings and classes all over the world. She has worked with non-profits and studios, continually building her knowledge of yoga in order to be the best teacher she can be. In doing so she learned her third essential yoga lesson, the importance of COMMUNITY. It seems Fate has brought Maddie to Freebird and she has fallen in love with the lively and compassionate community there. She is so excited to have joined the tribe!
